DAVIE, FLORIDA – Arielle Capuano, Founding Partner Attorney and Mediator at Levinson & Capuano, LLC, has received the prestigious Joseph J. Carter Professionalism Award presented by the Broward County Bar Association (BCBA).
The Joseph J. Carter Professionalism Award is awarded each year to a lawyer who exemplifies the highest ideals of professionalism in the practice of law and in life. The Joseph J. Carter Professionalism Award honors active and contributing members of the BCBA who exhibit the highest degree of professionalism in accordance with the BCBA Standards of Professional Conduct and the Florida Rules of Professional Conduct. Award recipients must also demonstrate respect for the law and preservation of decorum and integrity of the legal system. Finally, award winners must exhibit conduct which has enhanced the image of the legal profession either through practice or programs and activities that educate the public about the law or the American legal system.
The Joseph J. Carter Professionalism Award was presented to Arielle by the Honorable Tabitha B. Eves at the BCBA’s 2023 Annual Installation Dinner & Gala: An Evening at the Speakeasy in Davie, Florida. “I am humbled and honored to be recognized for this incredibly meaningful award,” said Arielle. “The Joseph J. Carter Professionalism Award was created in honor and memory of Joseph J. Carter, one of Broward’s most respected attorneys – a remarkable person and a true professional. The BCBA is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 to foster courtesy, ethics, and professionalism among Broward County lawyers, to educate the citizens of Broward County on their legal rights, and to provide necessary legal services to Broward County’s residents. Arielle is a long-standing member and supporter of the BCBA and the current Co-Chair of the BCBA Mental Health and Wellness Committee, where she and Beth Feder, Esq., have been honored as Co-Chairs for their groundbreaking attorney wellness programming, including a Yoga for Lawyers Series in partnership with BCBA YLS, educational programs in partnership with 211 Broward, and other meaningful programming reaching legal professionals across the state.
Arielle is the Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors for Voices for Children of Broward County and is a trained and certified Volunteer Guardian ad Litem. During Arielle’s service as Board Chair, Voices expanded programing to positively impact the lives of thousands of vulnerable children and families in Broward County. From feeding local children, to providing backpacks, beds, and bicycles, to planning and hosting holiday events, to taking foster kids to Disney, and more, Voices has become a pillar in the community, bringing together local attorneys, businesses, and philanthropists to effect positive change and provide life-changing services to the most deserving children here in Broward County. In 2021, the BCBA YLS partnered with Voices as the beneficiary partner for the 2021 Walter G. “Skip” Campbell, Jr. Memorial Charity Golf Tournament, awarding needed funds and recognition to this important cause. Arielle also planned and participated in a Christmas in July Partnership between BCBA YLS and Voices, as well as a Charity Bowling Event for the BCBA. Arielle is passionate about the community and stays active with other BCBA Committees, nonprofit organizations, local bar associations, and Florida Bar committee and section work.
Arielle focuses her practice on family law, business law, and mediation. She has represented families and businesses, provided intelligent solutions, resolutions, and litigation success, with diligence, first-class service, and a caring heart. Arielle is also a Certified Yoga Teacher and a leader in Attorney Wellness. By sharing Yoga and wellness, Arielle brings positive energy, wellness, and peacefulness to the legal profession. Arielle additionally enjoys integrating mindfulness principles into the practice of law and mediation, in order to better support her clients and community and empower a more fulfilling and sustainable career.
